Today I’d like to share with you something about music that you may not have ever considered before.
Now, most of us listen to music on a daily basis. You do too, right?
Sometimes we consciously choose to do this. But the majority of our music intake happens without any kind of choice on our part.
Think about it for a minute. The radio is on in the kitchen while you’re getting ready for work, the TV is on in the next room, the restaurant you eat at has music playing, you walk through a shopping center that has music playing over its system and pass shops that play music over their systems. You might not pay much if any attention to it but you hear it all the same.
Generally, the music you listen to intentionally isn’t meant to motivate or give you a specific positive message. And chances are, what you listen to intentionally or hear by happenstance won’t benefit your mind or your mood or your attitude. In fact, it could be feeding you the wrong message when it comes to attracting what you want into your life and negative messages about the world and people around you.
Let’s play a game. The next song you hear, take notice of how it affects your feelings and your mood. Pay close attention to the words and the composition itself. Do you feel like this is something that gives you a positive message or is it the other way around; giving you a sense of negativity?
If this is the case then it clearly shows that you can be negatively affected subconsciously by the music you hear everyday without even really realizing it.
I know it can be difficult to stay positive all day every day. All of us have challenging times. But we do have an excellent opportunity to control some of the things that impact us the most. If we pay closer attention to what we are listening to, we can make a choice of whether or not to continue to listen to it. We can choose to listen to music that has a motivational impact.
The beauty of this is that there’s an array of styles and genres of music. Take the artists that you are listening to right now on your Ipod. By listening to these you are already regularly choosing to consciously absorb motivating music. It isn’t just a refection of what you think and believe; it actually influences your thinking, what you believe and how you feel.
This is powerful. So if you need an “attitude adjustment”, take the time to really listen to and carefully choose the music you play on your car sound system while you drive, the selections on your Ipod or any other music you have control over, you will start to modify your psychological programming and line yourself up with optimistic vibrations.
To start to move forward toward the things you want in life consider this…
Thoughts are things ready to be attracted into your life. Why not achieve this with a song?
Choose wisely and have a wonderful day!
